Christmas bells are a staple in this popular neutral Christmas decor trend, but they can be used with almost any theme.
I am obsessed with them! I just think that they are so timeless and classic. There are so many different kinds, colors, finishes, shapes and styles. I am on a mission to find some antique brass bells to add to our decor for years to come.
I’m really hoping to come across some on our next trip to the Round Top Antique Show – which is my favorite flea market ever! (And probably the best thing we found about living in Texas.)
Here are a few of the ways that I could use them…when I eventually find them!
Hanging from the Mantel
These gold bells look stunning hanging on the end of the mantel. I wrote a whole post with Christmas Mantel Ideas and I cannot wait to have a forever home one day with a fireplace!
In a Swag
If you have a swag anywhere in your Christmas decor, put some bells on it. Just do it!! It’s such a simple and easy thing – everyone can do this. And it looks so good!
On the Porch
These giant bells look great on the front porch. I love that the imperfect white finish matches their patio furniture perfectly.
In a Dough Bowl
The antique sleigh bells look amazing in a dough bowl. They look so heavy-duty and like they were used for years and years to let others know that a team of horses were on their way. I would gladly have them in my Christmas decor!
In the Center of a Wreath
These gold bells in the center of a green wreath on the front door are gorgeous! I am loving these simple designs and that shiny brass finish.
Hanging with Ice Skates
I grew up in Florida, so I’ve never owned a pair of ice skates, but this picture makes me want to get some! Hang your antique bells with your ice skates on your hall tree or coat rack. It’s so pretty!
With the Stockings
If you don’t have large bells to hang on the end of the mantel, try hanging smaller ones with the stockings. I think it’s beautiful!
On a Garland
How cute are these bells on this fireplace garland? I love this rustic, minimalistic look.
In a Wreath
You can also incorporate them into a wreath! Instead of hanging them in the middle of the wreath, I worked them into the greenery on this wood bead Christmas wreath.
On the Mantel
I know I already listed a minimal mantel garland with bells, but this one was too pretty to ignore. So, if you want more on your mantel and still want to use bells, do it like this!
Around Sconce Lighting
Adding some greenery and big bells around your sconce lighting is a great way to have Christmas decor in every part of your house. It would work great on a porch!
Across the Windows
These dainty bells hung across the windows are understated, but so pretty! I imagine they sound so tinkly and dainty when someone rushes by them.
From the Banister
If I had stairs with a normal banister, I would definitely have bells hanging from them! I can’t wait to decorate the staircase in our new house. I even made a whole post of Staircase Decorating Ideas.
In a Centerpiece
This tray filled with jingle bells and candles makes a beautiful centerpiece. Especially when the Christmas lights make it sparkle.
On the Bookshelf
If you’ve seen my Bookmas tree ornaments, then you know that adding bells to the bookshelf is right up my alley!
You can use bells in your holiday decor in so many ways: on wreaths, mantels, stockings, staircases, windows, etc.
I am so excited to find some of my own and put them out with our decor this year.
