12 Norfolk Pine Christmas Tree Decorating Ideas

Ever since our PCS to Wheeler Army Airfield in Hawaii, I have wanted to have an island Christmas. And a huge part of that is having a Norfolk Pine Christmas tree instead of a ‘regular’ one!

We are planning a trip to Helemano Farms to cut down our own tree. And I can’t wait!

I’ve scoured the internet to find Norfolk Pine Christmas tree decorating ideas, so I can figure out what I want our tree to look like.

Here are the best ones I’ve found:

Classic Red

You can’t go wrong with classic red Christmas ornaments. My neighbors decorate their Norfolk Pine Christmas tree every year like this, and it is always beautiful!

Young Potted Norfolk Pine

I didn’t know this until now, but people keep potted Norfolk Pines inside the house! Apparently, these trees can’t survive freezing temps and people keep them in pots to move indoors during the winter.

Gold Ornaments

I love this one decorated with gold and brown ornaments. Also, it’s a big tree and I think that’s what we’re looking for too.

Big Colored Lights

This tree has both colored and white lights, but the colored ones are the big classic bulbs. It creates such a warm, nostalgic look.

Icicles

This Norfolk Pine Christmas tree has a mix of ornaments, but the ones that caught my attention are the icicles hanging from the branches.

Mini Tree

This is another potted tree, but it’s a mini one. And it is so dang CUTE!

Red Bows

The red bows caught my attention on this island pine. This must also be one of the pines that someone brings inside for the wintertime.

Tinsel Garland

This is the only Norfolk Pine Christmas tree that I’ve seen decorated with garland. And I think I like the way it looks!

Disco Balls

Blue & Purple

I tend to stick with the traditional Christmas colors (red and green), but these blue and purple ornaments make sense for an island pine!

Dainty Ornaments

My understanding is that Norfolk Pines have more flimsy, delicate limbs. So, it only makes sense to decorate it with dainty, lightweight ornaments.

Lighted Trunk

I am very intrigued by the lighting on this tree. They only wrapped the lights around the trunk of the tree, instead of winding them around the limbs.

Update: Our Tree

Norfolk Pine Christmas Tree Decorating Ideas: Beachy Coastal Theme

**Update: We went to a local Christmas farm on the island and got a beautiful Norfolk Pine!

I decided to decorate it in a coastal/beachy theme using blue Christmas balls, starfish ornaments, and matching blue velvet bows. And it is beautiful! I’m obsessed!**

Looking at all these beautiful Norfolk Pine Christmas trees has me ready to get out our decorations! (My Thanksgiving decor is still out…for now.)

All four of us are excited about our very first trip to a Christmas tree farm. Making memories is the most special part of any holiday and I know this will be a Christmas we remember forever!
