This week on the blog, I posted about the Hanauma Bay Ridge hike.

Technically speaking, it’s a very easy paved trail (at least the ridge is, we didn’t get off the paved trail). However, it’s a very long uphill walk, with no shade 🥵

The views of the bay are beside you as you ascend to the top, with views of East Honolulu to your right, Koko Head looms behind you, and you can see the spectacular Diamond Head crater as you near the top. It’s worth every uphill step 😍

We stopped by a couple of vintage and thrift stores while we were visiting Kauai & I brought home some goodies.

The bust was added to our bookshelf along with a ginger jar & copy of James Michener’s ‘Hawai’i: A Novel’, that were also thrifted.

The pennant was hung under the shelf in the reading nook.

And the red & white pillow shams I thrifted became stripes on one of the quilts I recently finished 😍

I love thrifting on vacation & bringing home treasures that will always remind me of the memories we made in new beautiful places ❤️

Sounds silly, but I’m so grateful to be at a point in life where I have thrift store money.

There were times when the bills were paid & we were fed, but there wasn’t room for any extras, not even thrifty ones.

So, to be able to buy a little treasure on a random Tuesday feels like luxury to me ☺️

Quilt reveals 😍

Each one is different.

2 have white setting fabric (the strips between the flags & around the border), 2 have navy setting fabric, and 2 have off-white setting fabric.

One of the navy ones has flags made from 2 pillow shams I thrifted on Kaua’i. One navy one has flags that are only red & pink. One of the white ones is made from thrifted shirts. One of the off-white ones is all vintage/thrifted fabrics.

All of them have a thrifted sheet has backing.

And I don’t know how I’m going to choose which one to keep & which to give away 🫣

Help me choose 😩

Side note: The girls were good sports about helping me film them. Even if everyone on the beach was watching us be weird 🤪
