When Lainey was in Kindergarten, her school put on a Vocabulary Parade the last week of October.
Instead of the kids wearing Halloween costumes to school, they all dressed up like a ‘vocabulary word’. You could pick your word and it could be anything you wanted. The paper she brought home stated that the costume should be homemade, but I’ll admit that we cheated.
The girls love playing dress-up and have trunk full of dress-up clothes to play with. So, Lainey picked a ‘warrior’ costume out of her dress-up box to wear to school and we used the word ‘valiant’ to go with it.
After I watched the parade, I was a little embarrassed because she was one of the few kids wearing a store-bought costume. Oops!
