September was a productive month for the Harrisons.
We survived little Hurricane Dorian and got back into a good routine with the kids going back to school and starting soccer.
Here are some of the New Year’s Resolutions I worked on during the month of September:
Mark Items Off of the Fort Bragg Bucket List
We were able to mark an item off of the Fort Bragg Bucket List when we spent Labor Day weekend at Lake Pines Swim Club in Fayetteville.
It was such a fun day and we left wondering why it took us so long to finally go!
We marked a second item off of the bucket list this month when we were FINALLY able to make it to the Fort Bragg Renaissance Faire! For two years, we tried to attend this event, but something always came up. So, we were stoked about going!
And it was so much fun! We will definitely be checking more of these events out in the future!
Complete Unfinished Projects
I was able to finish up one of my many unfinished projects that has been shoved in my craft closet.
More than 2 years ago, my sister’s beloved rat terrier died. She was devastated. Jill had been a part of our family for more than 10 years. So, I decided to make her a scrapbook in memory of Jill.
After buying the supplies and making just 2 pages, life got busy and I put it aside. When we moved, it was packed up and shoved in a box with other random craft supplies. During Hurricane Dorian, I pulled it back out and finished it up!
It felt good to finish something that has been sitting around for so long. I’m hoping it motivates me to finish up the girls’ baby scrapbooks soon!
We worked on getting a little more organized this month by adding another shelf to the play room. Back in February, we got a massive shelf to organize some of the toys in the girls’ playroom.
The shelf helped a ton with smaller toys, but the American Girl Doll furniture stayed on the floor since it wouldn’t all fit into the bins. It wasn’t a big deal until Lyvi’s birthday at the end of August, when she got even MORE doll furniture and play things.
So, my husband built a shelf to hold all of it! He did a great job and the best part was that it didn’t cost us a dime! He used extra pieces of wood and paint that he had laying around the garage.
The playroom looks so much neater without everything piled up in the floor!
Be More Active
Since the girls started soccer this month, I thought it would be a good time to start being more active also. While they are at practice, the husband and I go for a walk.
I can definitely tell it’s been wayyy too long since I’ve exercised, but I’m glad that I’m back at it!
September was a good and productive month for us. I am proud of the progress I’ve made on my resolutions so far.
Sometimes I feel like I’m not doing enough. I feel like I should be done with more of the resolutions by now. However, writing these posts every month help me to see that doing a little bit along adds up to big progress over time.
