It hurt my heart to sell my plants last week 😣

One of the buyers commented “You have a green thumb!” But truthfully, this island does the work for you. It’s been my most successful plant spot yet 🪴

If you’re a plant lady, you will never regret a trip to Hawaii (or any tropical island). I’ve been enthralled by all of the beautiful plants here 😍😍😍

The ‘Junk’ I Bought vs. How I Styled It: Kauai Edi

The ‘Junk’ I Bought vs. How I Styled It: Kauai Edition

We stopped by a couple of vintage and thrift stores while we were visiting Kauai & I brought home some goodies.

The bust was added to our bookshelf along with a ginger jar & copy of James Michener’s ‘Hawai’i: A Novel’, that were also thrifted.

The pennant was hung under the shelf in the reading nook.

And the red & white pillow shams I thrifted became stripes on one of the quilts I recently finished 😍

I love thrifting on vacation & bringing home treasures that will always remind me of the memories we made in new beautiful places ❤️

Aloha Friday from the West side 😍

If the rain will move out, I plan to squeeze in some beach time between getting ready for the movers to come on Monday 🥺

Also…I will post a moving announcement…eventually. Maybe from the plane 🤷🏻‍♀️ #ivebeenbusy

Sounds silly, but I’m so grateful to be at a point in life where I have thrift store money.

There were times when the bills were paid & we were fed, but there wasn’t room for any extras, not even thrifty ones.

So, to be able to buy a little treasure on a random Tuesday feels like luxury to me ☺️

Quilt reveals 😍

Each one is different.

2 have white setting fabric (the strips between the flags & around the border), 2 have navy setting fabric, and 2 have off-white setting fabric.

One of the navy ones has flags made from 2 pillow shams I thrifted on Kaua’i. One navy one has flags that are only red & pink. One of the white ones is made from thrifted shirts. One of the off-white ones is all vintage/thrifted fabrics.

All of them have a thrifted sheet has backing.

And I don’t know how I’m going to choose which one to keep & which to give away 🫣

Help me choose 😩

Side note: The girls were good sports about helping me film them. Even if everyone on the beach was watching us be weird 🤪

So….this is what I’ve been up to the past 6-8 weeks.

Yep…I made SIX quilts in about 2 months. I jokingly started telling my family that I was “in the factory” when I was sewing & before I finished, they started calling it a sweat shop 😂

Anyways…I have 3 extra quilts to figure out what to do with.

And quilt reveals coming soon 😍

I don’t know if I’ve ever posted an introduction. And according to the experts, I need one pinned to the top of my page. So, here it is 🤪

Hi, I’m Mandee 💕

I can’t ’niche down’. So, I share a little bit of everything I love, from travel and military life to DIY projects, home decor, thrifted finds, fun plants I find, and seasonal/holiday ideas.

A lot of my content comes from our life as a military family and all the places & houses we’ve called home along the way. 🌴🏡🌷

Whether you’re here for travel inspiration, decorating ideas, a DIY project, or just to follow along on our adventures, there’s plenty to explore!

I post detailed tutorials & supplies used for all of my projects on the blog, as well as hiking guides, travel itineraries, and buckets lists/things to do at every duty station.

And if you’re new here, say hi and tell me what brought you to Finding Mandee! ❤️
