March marched right into 2019 and marched right out!
But seriously, the month of March FLEW by for our family.
While I don’t feel like I accomplished many of my New Year’s Resolutions, there was one resolution in particular that I really made headway on.
Mark Items Off of Our Bucket List
We took 2 weekend trips this month, which helped us mark several items off of our Fort Bragg Bucket List. Our first trip was to the Outer Banks when my family came for their first visit to North Carolina. And our second trip was to Washington D.C to visit my husband, who is doing a rotation there for work. (Yay for not paying for a hotel room!)
These were all the items that we were able to check off of our bucket list:
- we went to a Fayetteville Marksmen hockey game
- we sledded down the Jockey’s Ridge sand dunes
- we saw a light house
- we visited the Wright Brothers’ Memorial in Kitty Hawk
- we saw the Roanoke (Lost Colony) settlement site
- we drove down the Outer Banks Scenic Byway
- we picked up sea shells
- we took a trip to Washington D.C.
Though it may not seem like it, checking off 8 bucket list items in one month is a big accomplishment! Going to these places cost money and takes a lot of time to plan, so I am more than pleased with our progress on the Fort Bragg Bucket List.
We were also able to spend time with our extended family – something that doesn’t happen much in this military life. So, we were very thankful for that.
Worked on my Spanish
For years, I have been trying to teach myself Spanish. While I haven’t been entirely unsuccessful, I haven’t dedicated as much time to it as I would like. So, this month, I created a Spanish bullet journal to help me stay on track, take notes, and practice this new language.
Although it doesn’t seem like much to report, I am very happy with March’s progress towards my New Year’s Resolutions. There’s still several that I haven’t started on (hello, #2), but I am planning on April being a little less hectic, so hopefully I will be able to get more done.
