New Year’s Resolutions: February Recap

I know y’all are dying to know what I’ve accomplished in the month of February **insert eye roll**. And the truth is…..not very much and a LOT at the same time. Let me explain…

If you read my January Recap, then you know that this year, I made monthly resolutions instead of typical annual New Year’s Resolutions. I was very successful the first month and am hoping to keep the momentum going.

I didn’t have a one main resolution, like my big clean out in the month of January. However, throughout February, I was able to make small progress on several resolutions.

Be More Personal on the Blog

One of my resolutions is to be more personal with this blog. It’s not lost on me that my posts tend to be very dry and straightforward. That doesn’t leave much opportunity for info about myself and personal life/goals.

I made progress toward this New Year Resolution by creating a personal category here on the blog. I also wrote a post listing all of my New Year’s Resolutions and even threw out some info about my finances. That’s pretty personal, right?

Mark Items Off of Our Bucket List

This month, we were able to mark 1 more item off of our Fort Bragg Bucket List when we visited the Flea Market in Fayetteville.

Save Money

One of my resolutions was to save money. Not only did we save a little extra money by eating out less, but I also started another part-time job in February!

I am now officially an employee of American Greetings, working as a merchandiser. It’s nothing special, but the hours are pretty flexible and the pay is ok. This job works around my other part-time job (as a childcare worker at a local church) and I can get my hours in while the kids are at school.

I didn’t think it was possible to find a job with that allows me the perks of being a SAHM and also make a little bit of extra money, but God answers even the smallest of prayers. And hopefully the extra money will help us start working towards our financial goals for the year!

Get Organized

I also started working towards my resolution to get organized. This month, we finally found a buffet that functions as a charging station. Well, we didn’t just find it, we had to refurbish an old dresser to create it, but it’s perfect for what we need!

The kids got tablets for Christmas and I now have a tablet that I use for work. For weeks, we’ve been plugging them in all over the house. It was only a matter of time before one got broken or lost. Thanks to the new buffet, they can all charge safely inside their own drawer.

I also organized my craft supplies, my kitchen cabinets, my desk, and the playroom!

This massive shelf helps keep the playroom organized.
Just look at this neatly organized playroom!

This month didn’t feel as successful as January since I didn’t accomplish one big task. But I’m still happy with the little progress that I’ve made. February serves as a reminder that some months will be better than others and that a little progress is better than no progress at all.

Here’s to March!
